Color Standards

AbLead employs intuitive coloring schemes to represent sequence properties and structural features, enabling rapid visual analysis of developability and engineering targets.

ABHAND

The ABHAND scheme classifies residues by their physicochemical properties. This allows engineers to quickly spot charge distributions, hydrophobic patches, and potential liabilities.

Group Color Hex Residue Properties
Acidic
Red
#FF0000 Negatively charged (D, E)
Basic
Blue
#0000FF Positively charged (K, R, H)
Hydrophobic
Green
#00FF00 Non-polar, aliphatic (A, L, I, M, C, V, P)
Aromatic
Magenta
#FF00FF Large aromatic rings (F, W, Y)
Neutral
Yellow
#FFFF00 Uncharged polar (N, Q, S, T, B, Z)
Deletion
Black
#000000 Glycine (G), Stop (*), Unknown (X)
Gaps White #FFFFFF Deletions or gaps in alignment (-)

Region Coloring

Structural regions are color-coded to distinguish between the stable Framework (FMWK) and the variable Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs).

Framework Regions

Used to provide structural support. Heavy chain frameworks are darker to provide visual contrast.

Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs)

Key regions for antigen binding. Light and heavy chain CDRs are differentiated by shade.

Severity Colors

Severity colors are used to flag developability risks, such as chemical liabilities or poor humanness and stability scores.

Severity Color Hex Description
High
Red
#CF4A3C Significant liability or extreme score deviation.
Medium
Orange
#E29848 Potential liability or moderate score deviation.
Low
Yellow
#F8D548 Minor liability or slight score deviation.
Good
Green
#88B46C Ideal range or no liabilities detected.
Baseline
Tan
#E6DEBC Neutral status or baseline reference.

[!NOTE] Some specialized tools, such as the Humanization dashboard, may use these same colors to represent different metrics (e.g., status relative to germline). Always refer to the legend within the specific tool's sidebar.
